Ontora group has posted a public meeting for all interested parties Feb 11 6.30pm at the White River Arena complex.
Also the White River LCC is supposed to have a presentation from the CLUAH (Wawa MNR) group at there next meeting Feb 16 6.30pm at the colbourne building… this meeting ( IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC).
If you are concerned about restrictions on public access to local public resources then both of these upcomming meetings will be an eye opener.
The White River LCC is a provincially funded committee (that means your Tax dollars) so their meetings have to be open to the public.
Hopefully see you there.

any one interested in protecting the wilderness from destruction by atv and 4X4 use should also anttend. access by citizens and visitors is never restricted, only the use of motorized land based vehicles is. this is done to protect the inherent value of "Wilderness" that is lost when an area becomes ribboned by trails used by ATV and 4x4s. the areas that have motorized vehicle restrictions, are relatively small, and the roads and trails are still open to use by people on foot, or on skis. I know that OntORA claims the roads are closed to biycles too, but I am not so sure about that. all of the signs in our area that designate a road closed to motorized vehicles, clearly state that they are close to "MOTORIZED" vehicles, not simply "VEHICLES", and none of the COs I've talked too haved confirmed that bicyles are prohibited.

That's one of many things you have wrong Gerhard.
Believe it or not, BICYCLES ARE PROHIBITED. They are classified legally as "Motorized Vehicles" by the MNR. In fact, this is a good example of how assinine a lot of their policies and regulations are!
