These four proposals were put forward by the Wawa MNR at their 2010 CLUAH presentation whereby they intend on continuing their practice of restricting public vehicular travel on designated roads to allow hunters staying at "remote"-based outfitters exclusive use of our public lands during the first two weeks of moose season. Currently they make the public wait their turn for the first two weeks.
When questioned about this discriminatory practice and going ahead with it especially when they mention that social and economic inequities will occur a spokesman told us that surprisingly they weren't referring to the public. The public owns this land we're being kicked out of, are we chopped liver?
The MNR is creating a monopoly by giving preference to the remote outfitters while the guests of road-based outfitters and the public must wait it out. This is against the law and the Ontario Municipal Act s.18 which the MNR is apparently partially governed by.
You'll notice how the public wasn't even faintly considered here. There is no proposal favouring the best interests of the public.
