Hats off to the organizers and members of ''OntORA'', for starting this Alliance. I applaud your efforts in trying to fight the MNR and the ''remote air based outfitters''.

I would like to bring up a few points that might help ''OntORA''. First off, ''PUBLICITY''. I no for a fact that very few anglers & hunters in the Timmins (gogama, foleyet, matachewan, shining tree, matheson.) area, have ever heard about ''OntORA''.

These areas represent over 50,000 people and I'm willing to bet a majority are ''Anglers & Hunters''. I know, ''OntORA'' had a booth at the Toronto Sportsman Show and that's a good start, but I believe ''OntORA'' should be at the 5 major Northern Ontario cities ''Sportsman Shows''

(Sudbury,Northbay, Timmins, Sault St Marie, Thunder Bay).

For example, the Schumacher Lions Club Sportsman show in Timmins had over 15,000 people attend last April, that's were we should be, talking to people from NORTHERN ONTARIO, handing out pamphlets and Website info.

Also all our local  BAIT & TACKLE SHOPS, should have information about ''OntORA'' & the Website. (the home page of the ''OntORA'' website would make a great paper handout for Bait Shops)

A second point I would like to bring up is, possible legal action against the MNR.

I'm sure we must have LAWYERS, in Northern Ontario who love to fish and hunt and agree with the policies of ''OntORA'', and would be willing to fight these ''access issues'' on our behalf.  ''Illegal road closures'' and'' Discrimination'' may be legal points a lawyer can look into.

Remember, a lawsuit would be the BEST publicity.

I personally heard a small claims Judge say:''how can the MNR deny people access to these lakes, I don't understand''. These comments came from, when a personal friend of mine, sued a''remote outfitter'' (full story later). If a Judge can't understand these issues, how are we supposed to.

KEEP UP THE FIGHT, GET INVOLVED.

New here , but I am a lodge owner north of Elliot Lake.

You are right, the message has to get out  there and sitting back and waiting for like minded people to find  ONTora is not going to work.

It appears that there are at least a couple of supporters in almost every community. Why do we not try and organize just small meetings in thesae areas to get people talking.

Of course nothing is going to happen over night, but there are so many people out there who are venting their frustrations into thin air.

As a first practical step, is there any kind of poster, flyer , information of any kind that I could provide at my lodge.

I know that my local flash point is Bark Lake and lots of people affected by that  stay with me.

I'm all wound up and ready to go but ineed some guidance ,  so …….

Start a facebook fan page and start networking. This allows you to find the little sporting shows as well.

I won't go to the Toronto show after the way they treated gun owners. Not a dime in TO. I only go to the Niagara Outdoors Show ( niagaraoutdoorsshow.com ) or the London show now.

If you say just shut up and fish then make sure you shut up when they ban you from fishing.
